I will be taking my first trip into the Canadian Rockies on the Rocky Mountaineer in June from Vancouver going east

Any helpful hints or insights you can tell me to make my trip more memorable? Anything I should be on the lookout for or avoid?

Ensure your camera is fully charged and you have spare memory cards.
If you have a scanner, bring it along as well.

Which route are you taking?  Baniff or Jasper?  Generally the first day would be the canyons to Kamloops, and then the mountains, on either CP or CN trackage.
