We now have a new feature that will list the most recent discussions from all the discussion forums on Trainorders.com. You can access the list by clicking the "Discussion" headline in the left menu bar.

That would be nice. Have a column next to the date that lists what board the activity is on.

I also noted the change in order of the discussion boards. Hope a lot of folks are as happy about that as I am!

In the options at the top right, choose "Group by forum" from the drop-down menu.

Maybe you should add a Whereizit? discussion board.

Great idea. I often don't manage to follow all the discussions on all the boards. This new feature will make it easier. How do you decide what makes it into the "Discussion" board? Sometimes a photo can lead to an interesting discussion. Will it be after a posting has had say, 10, responses? Or is it the editor's selection? If the editor has the time, I'd suggest the latter. I can always go to the original boards if I want a wider selection.

I suggest you make the link to the 'Discussion' feature in the same colour and font as the links to the other discussion boards.

The new feature may also save on Server bandwidth since it will reduce some of the foraging through the main pages looking for something interesting.
Not that I know anybody that does that.

It may also be conducive to stay logged in and leave the Discussion topic open and let the latest entries show up as they are posted, something like an entry log.

This is a great idea. May I suggest the most recent 20 posts be listed rather than the most recent 10 posts, as posts uploading at busy times of the day will be coming off only a very short while after they have appeared and be missed entirely.

You can change the options to allow for the most recent 10, 25, 50 or 100 threads or messages, depending on your preference. Look at the preference options at the top right of the Recent Messages page.

Great idea Todd, but it's not at all obvious that is a feature.

I think another menu entry that says "Most recent discussions" or "Latest discussions" would be more obvious.

My $1.00 short $0.98 :)
