Sounds like another particularly shat decision this side of the pond...

A more relevant question is: will the posting of UK trains on TO have to move from the European board to the International board?  Gerry

Technically the U.K. was never a part of Europe. Europe is the continent. The U.K. is largely made up of the island of Great Britain and part of the island of Ireland. Islands are not part of continents. Simple 3rd grade geography.

Antartica is an island. Antarctica is a continent.

Australia is an island. Australia is a continent.

"Coastlines, however, do not indicate the actual boundaries of the continents. Continents are defined by their continental shelves." That's from the National Geographic, which trumps Grade 3 for me.

"This island. this England...." not with standing, what separates Europe and Asia?  I was taught it was more a cultural and ethnic boundry.  Gerry

Nonsense, geographically the UK is in Europe. I know because I happen to live in both.

Update: RDG and UK TOCs back down and have reached an agreement to remain in Interrail and Eurail! Very unexpected and positive news!

It seems that the government-run LNER was the first TOC to break ranks and announce that they would continue to work with Eurail. This, along with a massive public backlash, seems to have convinced RDG to back down. For once, pragmatism (and the passenger) win!

So I presume by this logic that Long Island is not part of North America, nor is Manhattan.

Nor the provinces of NFLD and Labrador, PEI, etc.

Man this takes the cake of silly sayings!
