Welsh Marches Express
Author: 86235

Today Saphos Trains, the public face of Locomotive Services, ran their Welsh Marches Express from Preston in NW England to Cardiff, capital city of Wales. From Preston to Crewe the train was topped and tailed by two of Locomotive Services class 47s. From Crewe the leading 47 was replaced by 70000 Britannia, a 2 cylinder Pacific designed and built by British Railways in 1950. And very splendid she looked too. The train returned in the late afternoon, passing through Great Triley Wood as it climbed Llanvihangel bank.

Not only looks good, but sounds cool. Do they have a model sound decoder that captures that? Thanks for sharing.

Very nice Nick. Wondering where you have been, no posts lately.
And a great steam photo to boot
