article on monorails, from 1956
Author: ORNHOO

Way back in the twentieth century it was common for science fiction to contain some science, and therefore it was common for science fiction magazines to employ a science columnist. For many years the science columnist for Galaxy magazine was Willy Ley. While rereading some of his columns I stumbled on this: https://archive.org/details/Galaxy_v12n02_1956-06/page/n49/mode/2up
which gives considerable space to the Wupperthal monorail, so I felt this was the place to post it.

Excellent reading, and thanks for the link. I was at Wuppertal in 2019, and enjoyed a trip on the Schwebebahn (or Danglebahn!). It reopened in 2019 after a huge maintenance project, and all
new cars. Here's one on the move, and the power truck. Chris UK.
