Caerphilly station, taken today. The station building spanning the tracks, dates back to 1910 when the Rhymney Railway enlarged the station by adding two extra platforms. Sadly it's no longer in railway use, the ticket office is in the building on the platform. Reduced in scale to three platforms today it is still a busy interchange, with a bus station occupying the site of the platforms added in 1910.

Those were the days Chris

As you know we had the 37s return for a curtain call last year, which ended in February 2020. Today the Pacers are working their last miles whilst the 769s are run in, rumour has it that one 769 will enter service on Monday. And Caerphilly and the rest of the South Wales Valley Lines will change out of all recognition in the next couple of years with electrification.
