Some Yorkshire snow
Author: 55002

At long last it was good to get some decent snow where I live. Fortunately I can get around on foot, as roads were dreadful and lockdown means essential car journeys only. I walked to Horbury, for 2 freights which should have been 90 minutes apart. Unfortunately, the first train was delayed for over an hour, which meant the next was only 3 minutes behind it!  So no chance to change location. First to come was GBRf class 60, 60095 on a Drax Power Station to Liverpool docks empty biomass working. That was followed by DB Cargo class 66, 66192, working the empty rubbish containers from Wilton to Knowsley.

Lovely shots, that 60 fits in nicely with the landscape and snow.

They preparing to replace the rails on the other track?
It looks like they've dropped the new rails inside the gauge in preperation for the work.

Well spotted. The new CWR was dropped off a couple of weeks ago, and they are working along the east bound line renewing the rails.  chris uk
