1) With lots of bicycle parking. 3) I was headed for Zahony. It looks like I had 5 minutes to get to Track 5. ![]() ![]() ![]() Date: 11/29/22 12:36 Re: Hungary Part 7 — NE out of Nyiregyhaza Author: gobbl3gook 4) Hungary has a lot of these cute little rail buses. It was a "flyover" country for me, between the mountsins of Austria and the mountains of Ukraine. So I wasn't lingering. Lots of trains, though, just flat scenery that wasn't particularly exciting for train riding, train watching, or bicycling.
5) Very pretty day, a nice break after about a month of coldish rainy weather. 6) A clean and new coach. No cabins. Few other passengers. Questions, comments, observations? Apparently Hungary has a very high rate of bicycle use for travel in rural areas, especially in the east. I haven't verified, but a friend who once lived in Hungary says it is about 1 out of 8 trips are made by bicycle. Regardless of the actual number, it was good to see people from all walks of life out and about on bicycles. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
