SNCF diesel in Gare de Lyon Paris 1983
Author: erielackawanna

I have long loved the big boxy Brissonneau-Lotz BB-67400 class in France. Here we see one in a photo I took at Gare de Lyon, in Paris, on May 18, 1983. These units can work in both freight and passenger service. I think this one random view, caught while exiting a train on another platform, remains my best shot of one.

I don't know anything about European motive power, but this is a fine roster shot, and an interesting background. Well done.

Thanks for posting.

Looks just like my HO version of same. It can pull my string of HO French passenger cars, or could if there were track laid out somewhere that permitted them to run.

I've come around to rather liking these "icons" of modern SNCF, and they certainly have character. Any still in regular service? Thanks for sharing!
