AFT Maps Tulsa to Wichita
Author: BoilingMan

Another funny dogleg routing. MoPac sites at both ends, but the run itself was all ATSF.
The Main Consist (Cars 100-200) was backwards for the run.
Diesel helper between Chanute & Winfield. Water stop at Chanute. P/U press at Winfield. 271 miles on ATSF.
Both the display track and the bridge we used to cross the river to it are gone now.

Looks like the Wichita parking spot was a piece of the old Midland Valley RR.
I chased the train that day and the open platform car was on the rear across
the Flint Hills from Chanute to Wichita. That much I remember. I even have
a shot of the Santa Fe divsion super waving from the platform. That was a guy
named Mike Haverty. Wonder whatever happened to him?

That's actually quite interesting- we were displayed on disconnected (was the line gone in 1976?) Midland Valley track in both Tulsa & Wichita. I was aware of it being MV in Tulsa, but in Wichita it was identified as MP, which of course, had swallowed up the MV. Cool. Thx!!
