Eastern Railroad Discussion > Dreary Day RamblingsDate: 03/31/08 14:48 Dreary Day Ramblings Author: DoctorThunder Had a day off and decided to head out early this morning.
First shots are of Amtrak #49 making it's stop in Bryan, OH. It was only running about 20 minutes late. Good by it's standards. 2 GP38-2's stand sentinal over the polished main line across from the station. Date: 03/31/08 14:52 Re: Dreary Day Ramblings Author: DoctorThunder Next up after a stop at McDonalds in Montpelier and a quick check out of the yard and Pergo Jct is a trip down the Wabash and the sign at the Indiana State Line.
Shot two and three are an eastbound heading out of the fog just west of Butler on the water Level Route Date: 03/31/08 14:55 Re: Dreary Day Ramblings Author: DoctorThunder The smash hit of the day was this eastbound CP stack train crossing over at Waterloo to make the turn towards Detroit at Butler.
Date: 03/31/08 14:57 Re: Dreary Day Ramblings Author: DoctorThunder A quick stop at Garrett brought this eastbound van train along with some other assorted power. Very crappy morning as the pictures attest.
Date: 03/31/08 15:00 Re: Dreary Day Ramblings Author: DoctorThunder And finally a trip along the old Wabash out of New Haven brought me the ugliest Geep I have ever scene. Here it is at the Western End of the Maumee and Western in Woodburn, IN. Paducah Geep CNUR #7
All in all a good way to spend a drab and dreary day off. -Brent Kneebush Defiance, OH Date: 03/31/08 16:43 Re: Dreary Day Ramblings Author: toledopatch MagnumForce Wrote:

Mingo Jct? I'm unaware of a place by that name in western Ohio -- just the one along the Ohio River near Steubenville. Where's this one? Date: 03/31/08 17:14 Re: Dreary Day Ramblings Author: DoctorThunder My bad I meant PERGO (PERu-chicaGO) Just west of Montpelier where the Wabash Toledo-CHicago Line and the Detroit-KC/StL line split after travelling through Monpelier together.
Mingo is undoudtedly a couple hundred miles from there. Date: 03/31/08 17:15 Re: Dreary Day Ramblings Author: toledopatch MagnumForce Wrote:

Thanks! I'd never known what the name of that switch was. Date: 03/31/08 22:16 Re: Dreary Day Ramblings Author: raildog Great atmospheric shots!
Yikes. You're right. Clearly that's Darth Geep, Dark Lord of the Wabash. Date: 04/01/08 06:32 Re: Dreary Day Ramblings Author: Gonut1 Just thought it was another leftover PC loco?
