When I shot this train, or one similiar to it in May, the crew was calling signals as 60M.

Any idea of what is in the hopper cars?

The cars look to be ballast cars. And it appears to be some kind of some type of "fine" ballast. (smaller stone). If it is ballast its probably a MOW train which would make it a 900 series or a 90Q series.

If it's company stone, it's a 9xx-series train. If it's stone for an aggregates company (think road construction, concrete manufacturing, etc.) it's probably in the 600s, which seems to be the number series for miscellaneous-commodity unit trains (stone, steel, ethanol, salt, municipal solid waste, et cetera). My guess with small-size gravel is the latter, and those aren't NS hoppers, either. Don't have any specifics about this one, hope someone can get you a precise symbol.

Is a 60E Rock is loaded at Postell Ga and taken to Macon by G10 or G08. Then 60E gets the rock and takes to Valadosta. Its rock for asphalt. Those cars are under lease by USA aggregates for there loading and can run any where they send them.

Thanks for all the help. Gives the data base a little more perspective than "unit train". Appreciate the help.
