Eastern Railroad Discussion > Amtrak Wilmington DE ShopDate: 08/04/11 05:51 Amtrak Wilmington DE Shop Author: GWHEN All the Photos were taken while I was a camper at Railcamp 2011.
#1 Photo shows a small part of the engine shop (Their was more Diesel electric then actual Electric) They had about six Genset Locomotives around the shop 4 inside 1 working the yard and 1 waiting for service. Another Locomotive in the yard was Amtrak's one and only SW1 #737 (No pic though) #2 Notice all the wheels but notice something else a old baggage car in the background. #3 Brand New disc brakes. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/04/11 05:58 by GWHEN. Date: 08/04/11 05:57 Re: Amtrak Wilmington DE Shop Author: GWHEN #4 Photo Show such clean wheels that you could eat off of them
#5 Photo show wheels being lined up on the axle to be pushed on the axle(No heat No glue No bolt Just pressed) #6 Shows the finished product. Date: 08/04/11 06:04 Re: Amtrak Wilmington DE Shop Author: GWHEN These Pic are just random from around the yard
#1 Shows an Amtrak Viewliner (That I know of) #2 Shows a P42 Resting in the shad with a second one waiting. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/04/11 06:21 by GWHEN. Date: 08/04/11 08:49 Re: Amtrak Wilmington DE Shop Author: blphoto What is under that white tarp? Hmmmmm

I'm wondering what's under the tarp, too. Probably nothing - but wouldn't it be nice if Amtrak had painted an overdue heritage electric for the NEC? /Mitch Date: 08/04/11 12:11 Re: Amtrak Wilmington DE Shop Author: amanwtf The Genset locomotives you are referring to are not Gensets, they are actually GP-15 locomotives. The Amtrak owned Gensets are based in Los Angeles.

Nice series of photos of Amtrak behind the scenes. SantaFeRuss Date: 08/04/11 16:13 Re: Amtrak Wilmington DE Shop Author: agrafton Nice photos, thanks for sharing, I'm sure you had a great time.

Date: 08/04/11 16:25 Re: Amtrak Wilmington DE Shop Author: KV1guy From the outline Id say a burned up Toaster (AEM7) is under the tarp.
