Eastern Railroad Discussion > Greencastle Pa. Intermodal TerminalDate: 04/26/12 08:50 Greencastle Pa. Intermodal Terminal Author: freightrain Here are a few more photos from the new intermodal terminal site at Greencastle, Pa. The first is the new derail installed at the east-end yard lead. The second is a shot of a hollow metal tie derail heater. I never saw one before. It is used just like a switch heater. Third shot is looking west from the Hykes Road bridge with the new yard lead on the left.A ballast train was here yesterday, and may be coming back this weekend.

Thanks for posting. Gonut Date: 04/27/12 05:03 Re: Greencastle Pa. Intermodal Terminal Author: CRCivilEng Don't think that is a switch heater tie. It is 2 ties back from the points. It could be a composite tie or hollow steel tie.
Closer photo would help. |
