Nice and they did not put the engine number on the cab, nice touch.

Don't think I can claim it as my favorite, but, still pretty darn good looking.

Did they put the herald on the nose?

Will this unit be used in coal train service too and head East? I wonder if it will head north up the New Castle District to Fort Wayne and then on the mainline to Belevue?

Once the unit is actually released from EMD, it will be sent to either the NS Bellevue, OH or Conway, PA locomotive shop to be setup for service, then be put into service from there.

Thanks Chris. So, I suppose it would go North or South on the New Castle District but I would say north, then east.

There are a few guys from my area here in Indiana that are probably keeping quiet about this in order to get the first photos...<G>

There is another photo at railpictures.net (Official NS Publicity Photo) with the red herald on the nose. Looks great! I suppose I am not allowed to post the link here.

With the NYC being my favorite "Old" Fallen Flag (born and raised in New York, what can I say?), this is absolutely stunning!!! I never thought I'd see brand-new New York Central power, now I know it's an NS unit but those lightning stripes look amazing! Another great job Norfolk Southern!!! Keep 'em coming!
