I guess the reports of PRR GP38 2943 The "Spirit Of Conrail's"
demise was greatly exaggerated!!!!! Because it is alive, and
kicken' tonight, on an NS 654 coal train that is about to depart
Conemaugh,Pa. on the Pittsburgh line. I talked to the engineer,
and he said they were headed for Conway,Pa. So it looks like
a late night arrival for it in Conway tonight. Also in the 9
unit consist with the 2943 were, PRR GP38 2936 (Operation
Lifesaver paint), Freshly rebuilt NS GP38-2 5509, CSX (Ex-CR)
repaints GP38 2776, and SD40-2 8878??. Both CSX units have the
new White "Cooler" roof. Look for this power in Conway tomorrow
morning, and good luck to all. :-)

Good to see it is still alive and kicking. Here is a shot from Morrisville PA with two of the pride of Conrail, CR/PRR 2943 and CR/PRR 2923, the former CR 7868 Philadelphia Division GP38-2.
