Friday at Plant City & Mulberry, Florida
Author: gg1tim

Friday I drove over to Plant City, FL and arrived about 0900 and the first train I got was the 0711 with GP-60 #6898 with caboose headed back to Lakeland.

Short time later I got the 0800 with SD40-2 #8000 in the lead headed back to Winston Yard. Seems I always get on the wrong side of the sun whenever I go to Plant City.

Again I was surprised by the returning 0709 with GP39-2 #4310 as I was again facing the sun for the photo.

Drove over to the cemetary just north of Plant City to see if any south bound trains were in the picture. Once again I found myself facing the sun as the Q652 came by led by C40-8W #7719. By this time I decided to drive over to Mulberry as I could work the sun angles better.

After I drove over to Mulberry I headed straight to Ridgewood where a short time later I got the 0810 led by SD40-2 #8096 headed for Fort Meade.

Going away view of the 0810 trailed by SD40-2 #8013.

A short time later the 0842 came by led by SD70M #4698 headed into the Ridgewood facility.

Trailing unit on the 0842 was SD70M #4675.

A little over an hour later the 0831 with SD40-2 #8410 came by headed into the Ridgewood facility.

Trailing unit on the 0831 was SD40-2 #8016.

After about 20 minutes the 0842 left Ridgewood led by SD70M #4675.

Another view of the 0842 as it passed by me on its way back to Rockport.

After the 0842 passed by I headed home back to Palmetto. On the way driving on CR 37 I saw a train headed to the Four Corners Mine since the road was blocked by the train. After it passes I drove into the mine area where there is a pull off on the road and waited for about 5 minutes for the train to appear. Here it is just coming out of the shadows led by GP-38 #3801.

Another view of the Mosaic shutle which runs from Agrock to Four Corners Mine. This was a totally unexpected treat and ended my day on a high note!!!!

Watch for the 59-car RBBB Red Unit Circus Train through Plant City, Fla. "some time" this coming Wednesday, on their way back to Florida after a 2-year tour with the show's 141st Edition. Other "RBBB RED...." posts on TO.COM will undoubtedly be following their 3-day "Home-Run" from Michigan, starting Monday.
