CP Holiday Train 2012 Light Show
Author: GWHEN

Hello fellow Railfans
Yesterday I had the opportunity to go up to Scranton and the Tunkannock Viaduct to see the CP Holiday train for the first time. I must say it is a very impressive light show on rails.

All Pictures Except for the last picture are in Scranton.

The very last shot is on the Tunkannock Viaduct. A very impressive bridge with an even more impressive train on top of it.

Hope you all enjoyed.
Have a great day everybody.

Good stuff. This is the first time I "chased" it and it really is impressive to see. Just as impressive is the amount of people who came out to see it. I was at my parents eating dinner at 5:00 before heading back out and the local TV station's 5:00 PM news had a nice live shot and story about it from Steamtown.

We chased it as well a cpl yrs ago and it was very hard to chase it north on Rt 11 towards Binghamton with all the traffic following and pacing it!

Nice photos. I was looking forward to seeing everyone's photos from the stop at Scranton this year as I couldn't go. I've gone the past two years, when the train came in on a Saturday and made a weekend trip out of it. I was also wondering how big the crowd would be. Here are some photos from last year. You couldn't get a clear shot of the engine due to the crowd walking around the train. Enjoy!

Very nice, especially the viaduct shot. I'd nominate that one for IOTD!
