Ex-Penn Central/Conrail GP-38 gets a new lease on life

At the West Chester Railroad. Last being used to move coal hoppers at the Cromby Power Plant near Phoenixville, it has now been donated by Excelon Energy Corp. to the WCRR, who will refurb it & put it in service.

Thanks for posting this. That is a pretty new locomotive to be donated. As the article states, plenty of life left in it.

43 years: Many locomotives younger than that have gone to scrap, too.
