NS 8101 the CofG
Author: herbsommers

As per hu.com the CofG, NS 8101 has left Sandusky and gone east to Olmstead Falls. No symbol or other info. Any idea as to what is going on?

Sounds like NS may possibly be sending her to Shire Oaks as well...will try and provide some more information soon.

The NS 8025 Monongahela was on a X73 (extra section of 573) last night and the NS 8101 Central of Georgia is on a 573 today; both going to Shire Oaks...just passing CP Drawbridge around 0935.

Your quite welcome; five Heritage locomotives will be in and around Pittsburgh/Shire Oaks this week; Central Railroad of New Jersey, Lackawanna, Monongahela, Central of Georgia and possibly the NS 6920.

NS 8101 Central of Georgia is the only locomotive on the train pulling empties back to Shire Oaks...

Has it passed Alliance yet?

If not and if as reported earlier it's limited to 30 MPH because of a marker/air issue, there may be time to get to Rochester.

Thanks.

Not sure Dale. It went thru Ravenna (CP 86) at around 1107. Alliance is at CP 67 on the Cleveland Line so yes it should have passed thru Alliance by now. Only nineteen miles from Ravenna to Alliance.

According to a new thread, the 8101 and train were by Ravenna at 1107, so it's surely by Alliance by now even at 30 mph.

Hasn't gone thru New Galilee yet, but I figured the regular intermodel fleet will hold it at either CP Lum or Enon.

David.Carl & zzz,

Thanks. I can't see my getting to Rochester before he arrives and once it gets into Conway anything can happen. Most likely a Shire Oaks crew may not be available, checking into whatever the air issue was.....

You get the idea.

Thanks.

Dale

Approaching Leetsdale, guess nothing was done at Conway, still only 8101 for power
