Best laid plans ... NS 203
Author: ddavies

The NS H-line DS put local V86 out in front of 203 (the hottest train on the line), then asked 203 to hold back until V86 had cleared Shepherdstown, WV, before leaving Hagerstown, MD. The were signals people out who wanted a test train past Shepherdstown at 50 mph. So 203 held back, but as he comes south, there is a 10 mph slow order at 15.2. Shepherdstown is 16.8 ... with a mile long train, and climbing away from the low point over the Potomac River, no way is 203 gonna reach 50 mph in half a mile. ;-)
