NS 6920 leading 255
Author: perf4strivection

A friend just reported that the Veteran's unit is leading NS 255, a Detroit - Kansas City roadrailer that works Fort Wayne before running via the Wabash west out of town. Train was departing Fort Wayne less than an hour ago.

Sitting east of Decatur at CP Sangamon. Has been for the past hour. Outbound Springfield-Hannibal District crew to Moberly was called for 1700 hours.

A post of NS train symbols here on TO by "florida581" lists 255 as being the train that turns into the BNSF Q KCKSAG in KC but I've seen other posts saying this train terminates at Voltz. Anyone know which one is which?

It terminates at Voltz/Kansas City. 267 is the one that turns into the BNSF Q-KCKSAG at Argentine Yard in Kansas City (some days at least, other days it just terminates in Mitchell, IL's Triple Crown facility).

Just a heads up, 255 is now on the move out of Decatur. Heads up Springfield, IL area and points west.

I was unaware that 267 extended to KC on some days. I was under the notion that 255 was the only westbound roadrailer to KC...hence why I was under the assumption why it became the KCKSAG. Be cafeful when you assume, huh? :) Thanks for pointing that out Lewis. I'll make note of that on the NS symbol list.

I can confirm that 255 terminates at Voltz/Kansas City and that 267 is the
BNSF train I have seen 255 go to the BNSF one time but that was on a weekend
Sunday night.
260 is the Voltz train eastbound and 240 is the eastbound train from the BNSF I have
also seen a 248 symbol used on Saturday before.
