Variety From Around Fostoria OH
Author: fireman74

I was in Fostoria OH this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning. This is just a small bit of what I caught while I was there. If you can add any info, please do. Thanks for looking. Jay

#1 I found this just outside of Willard OH. Someone was using this as a shed. Could this been a coiled steel cover?
#2 An Eastbound ethanol train with ICE power just East of Fostoria.
#3 A NS unit switching the autorack yard near Yokum Rd.

#4 Without the windows being welded over and still having the flashing light I would call this a caboose.
#5 Another caboose. Both are in the small C&O yard South of F tower. For the record they will always be cabooses to me, not shoving platforms.
#6 An Eastbound NS at the mill headed towards F tower.

#8 A meet at the same spot viewed from Columbus Ave.
#9 A CSX freight with BNSF power at Girton Rd outside of Risingsun OH on the old C&O.

#11 This CSX train was turning onto the old C&O about to cross Columbus Ave. Thanks to the Fostoria City for the new viewing park.
#12 An Eastbound NS at S. Poplar St.

Nice to know there are some Chessie System items lingering around. I also saw that double ICE unit in Brooklyn Heights on Friday afternoon heading East.

Thanks for sharing.

Like that #15 a lot... Two coming at us: one close, one in the background.

Nice series of photos. Yes, that is an ex coil cover. CSX got rid of a lot of them years ago and a lot of area farmers picked them up for their farm animal shelters to get out of the weather.

Photo #6 is probably NS #218.

The CSX eastbound at Risingsun is likely Q394, which often has power shuttling east to Willard for servicing. It normally runs in the morning, but has been way off schedule of late.
