Eastern Railroad Discussion > South Jersey photos from ThursdayDate: 03/16/14 16:52 South Jersey photos from Thursday Author: OCtrainguy The kids have kept me busy the past few days, but not a complaint through, so here are some of my photos from south Jersey, Pavonia Yard trains to be exact, on Thursday. One of the key trains was a SD80MAC on a coal train as photographed by chuchubob: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?2,3349938
1. I'll start my photos with Paulsboro Yard job PA10 shifting cars with CSX 2792. 2. From there, I was able to see the CA11 in Carneys Point as the train is heading to Deepwater with CSX SD40-2s 8830 & 8815. 3. Heading to Westville, I was able to see the CA05 heading into Sunoco with NS 1030 & 8083. They are going to pull the empty cars. 4. Knowing they’d be busy for a while getting their cars, I headed to 36th Street to check on the 39G and/or the Q418. Pavonia Yard crew CA15 was building the 39G with NS engines 7540, 6938 & 5226: 5. Close-up of SD60E 6938 6. High Hood GP38-2 5226, presumably going out for its inspection Date: 03/16/14 16:58 Re: South Jersey photos from Thursday Author: OCtrainguy Included in the 39G were Conrail, N&W/NS and N&W (with EJ&E hoods) coil cars.
7. Conrail coil car 8. N&W coil car with NS hoods 9. N&W coil car with EJ&E hoods Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/16/14 17:05 by OCtrainguy. Date: 03/16/14 17:03 Re: South Jersey photos from Thursday Author: OCtrainguy Heading back to Westville, the CA05 was ready to head to Pavonia with the empties and an engine on each end. I got caught at a crossing in Westville, so I headed up to Gloucester City to catch them:
10. NS 1033 leading 11. NS 8083 trailing I then heard a FC81 asking for permission through the work zone in Westville, so I headed to another spot in Gloucester City to wait for them. 12. The train was a pair of NS engines, 8814 & 8907, returning to Pavonia after making a drop off of cars at Thorofare. Date: 03/16/14 17:09 Re: South Jersey photos from Thursday Author: OCtrainguy I contemplated going to see the CA51 when I heard about a FC95 looking to head to Woodbury and a mention of Salem. It sounded like they were at Bulson Street and were getting an engine there, so I waited in Gloucester City, by the train station. They had 5221 and 5222:
13. NS 5221 passing the former train station 14. Another look at NS 5221 and the ballast cars 15. Going away photo of the 5222 It was a good day to be trackside. Hope you enjoy! |
