Finally Bagged Them All
Author: SlipperyWhenWet

Hearing that the Conrail unit was finally taken off coal service in southern Illinois i vowed to photograph this unit come hell or high water as it was the only remaining one left. I had seen it over a year ago but was not in a position to shoot it and it hadnt made it back to Chicago since then. So when it got sent heading back East i figured id get my chance sooner or later, i didnt think it would be this soon. When i heard it got put onto 35E from Elkhart to Chicago i was pretty happy. So here is my take on all 20 of the Heritage units, i dont usually get the chance to photograph them while they are pulling trains, i usually catch them after they have come into our yards and are just sitting idle waiting for assignment so i dont have to many dramatic photos of them leading a snake like oil train or a long intermodal, and some photos are better than others and some need to be photographed better, but im pleased with what i have so far

So heres all the ACe's first

Nice completion of the HU's. I still need 5 more. They don't congregate in the Chattanooga, Tn. area as much as they do up North. No rush though, the chase is fun!

Man tough crowd on this site, theres no chit chat. Now I remember why I stopped posting my pictures here, seems like only a select few individuals always get tons of googley eyed comments on their photos, wont bother wasting my time anymore

Don't let the lack of comments upset you. I have made posts that I thought was worthy of many comments and it didn't happen.

I'm glad you got them all, along with 6920 and 1111. I've only seen four of them (in order, IT, PC, MGA, NYC); I also have a long way to go. Seems as though for my area, the oil trains are the ticket to get them on. I love seeing that LV/FXE consist, remember the discussion on TO about that. Great catches! Have you got all the Amtrak ones and UP's special units (including non-heritage)?

Seems that 15 is a popular number. After seeing them in Spencer in 2012, I have only caught 15 as well. I think they have probably all been to Norfolk at one time or another, but not when I could see them. I have not given up. Nice pics by the way and congratulations.
