Eastern Railroad Discussion > Before and After in Anthracite CountryDate: 09/27/14 12:07 Before and After in Anthracite Country Author: RDG630 With my photography of the Reading & Northern's ex-AT&SF GP39RN's yesterday I was able to capture the locomotives in both paint schemes at several of the same locations I visited last April - their first day of service on the Mountain Job.
First two at Locust Summit Next two at the Tielman Road crossing south of Lavelle, Pa Date: 09/27/14 12:09 Re: Before and After in Anthracite Country Author: RDG630 Date: 09/27/14 12:10 Re: Before and After in Anthracite Country Author: RDG630 Date: 09/27/14 12:38 Re: Before and After in Anthracite Country Author: boejoe Nice comparison. Looks like you were standing next to T.O. member 'resqjon' at the Tamaqua station for similar shots the other day.

KR Date: 09/27/14 16:54 Re: Before and After in Anthracite Country Author: Poker2662 Very nice. I like how in the pictures by the restored station, the same pickup truck is parked in the right background.

Question: Do these units have air conditioning? If so, where is the ac unit located? I can't tell you how refreshing it is to see older EMD units, especially GP30s, without a stinking air conditioner sticking out of the cab roof - but of course I don't have to work in them!!
