Back in the 1930s, B&O ran a mixed train from Washington DC out to Harpers Ferry and then south to Harrisonburg, using some rights over Southern Railway and much B&O track. Would this segment be part of that operation? Date: 12/09/14 02:30 Re: Question About Abandonded Grade Author: bobwilcox It was the B&O going to Lexington, VA. The Depression put it out of its misery.

Yes, you're in the right place.

Date: 12/10/14 05:33 Re: Question About Abandonded Grade Author: skrambo A recent book by Bob Cohen titled "A trip in the Shenandoah Valley on the B&O and Southern Railway" has maps, photos, time tables and a lot of history, from Harpers Ferry to Lexington, VA. Book for sale by C&O Historical Society in Clifton Forge, VA
