"Since 2005, crude oil shipments nationwide have grown from 6,107 carloads, to 435,560 in 2013—a more than 70-fold increase, according to the Association of American Railroads........ ........During that same time, the number of incidents involving trains carrying crude oil nationwide have jumped from 5 to 166, an analysis of federal data by NJ Advance Media shows." The charts show data for each year from 2005 through 2013. The data portrayed by the charts is dramatic. I see BNSF unit oil trains pass my house everyday.
