18,000 tons/all three online/wet rail...
Author: Forever-Railfan-45

While taking the wife out to an appointment I got a text from friend of mine, Alan, that NS 10E was having its helpers cut off at Raff Road (PC 103) on the Fort Wayne Line.  I then rerouted to Canton Yard (PC 97) to intercept the 10E; added bonus was that snow was falling.  All three locomotives were online and wide open as she was 18,000 tons according to the conductor when the helpers detached.  First picture is at Canton Yard, second and third are just north of Homeworth, Ohio on the Cleveland Single Line.  Nice to finally get to some snow shots...

Number four is of the 12V last week with the Lackawanna DIT. Coming back from a job interview and had the camera in the car. Number six is an oddity; an EMD locomotive but with a GE sticker on the nose.  What gives?

The GE sticker has something to do with the prime mover reuilds. We have the stickers on our SD40-2s

GE makes a replacement 645 motor via a separate division. Bought rights for Europe many years
ago and the stuff has migrated over here.

Second shot catches my eye.  Like the light reflecting off the rail.  Third shot is neat with the snow sticking to the front of the unit.  Thanks for posting.

GE makes all kinds of EMD replacement parts. For both the 645 and the 710. GE rebuilt turbos are starting to become common on the SD40-2 at the railroad I work for.

Or number 6 could be a leased job through GE Financing.

Nice snow photos. and Heritage catch.  Looks pretty neat with snow stuck to the front of unit and the number boards.  GE sticker must be for replacement parts like everyone says--I thought I had heard it was for updated Tier emissions related. See a lot of the GE labels on EMD units around here.
