Eastern Railroad Discussion > Some LIRC from todayDate: 04/25/16 19:01 Some LIRC from today Author: srman This morning I heard that the Louisville & Indiana was about to send a northbound to Speed Indiana. The J11A25 had for power their 2005 and recently
repainted 2303 the former and correct me if I'm wrong 2376. Three images are from them leaving the Jeffersonville Indiana yard, working Speed and finally heading back to the yard. Date: 04/25/16 22:21 Re: Some LIRC from today Author: Alexmarissa Love that paint scheme. Thanks for posting!

Date: 04/26/16 13:42 Re: Some LIRC from today Author: ICG I first saw this unit on April 19 and wondered myself if it was the LIRC #2376. I looked into my photos, and found one of the #2376 taken on 9/30/15 in Jeffersonville. Could this unit have been rebuilt and repainted in that short of a time?

Looks like something with the state of Indiana on it. The last time I saw them was less than a month ago and it wasn't there, at least not on the 2003 and 2006. (North end of the P&L yard in Louisville.)
John Date: 04/26/16 18:46 Re: Some LIRC from today Author: srman The dot that you are seeing is a decal that they have applied that celebrates this years bicentennial of the state of Indiana.

Work was done by Mid America Car in Kansas City,MO. #2303 is indeed the former LIRC #2376; I shot the #2303 on 4/16/16 in Jeffersonville with green and yellow GP39-2's #2371 and 2378 on the next track over. On 4/18 all 3 remaining green and yellow GP39-2's #2371, 2375 and 2378 were photographed on a grain train. Bryan Jones Brooks, KY Bryan's Train Photos |
