Mac & Cheese Train on CN
Author: BruceStikkers

1. The CN caboose 199408 is shoving off the CN mainline just south of the Champaign, IL yard on a local to the Kraft plant in west Champaign.
2. They are approaching the NS branch line to Urbana and will travel a couple of blocks west in it
3. The train contanis 4 cars of flour for Kraft. They make Kraft Mac and Cheese at their huge facility here.

4. IC 9636 pushes the train along with 4923 on the branch that at one time went to Decatur, IL. The line ends now on the west side of Champiaign and the Decatur/Champaign traffic goes from Decatur to Mattoon and then up the mainline to Champaign.
5. Now they are going off the NS branch back on to CN (exIC) trackage
6. Now the train moves west toward Kraft to deliver the flour so everyone can enjoy their Mac and Cheese. The plant makes many products at this site, but it does have a piece of macaroni art in the front of their building.

Neat shots, if you have any shots of the plant itself that would be interesting.
