I made a trip out to Altoona and environs via Amtrak last week. It was a good time. Ill have more to post later from the trip. But thought I would share some pics from the rear of Amtrak 42 from Pittsburgh to Horseshoe. Was surprised to see a number of Position Lights still left as well as some ex NYC type signals too. 1. The first photo is very interesting, as the cantilever signal bridge has the same span of tracks as the modern bridges, but it has far less construction associated with it. It's surprising that the long arm is braced by such a skinny diagonal arm, but it works.
