NEC E or F Unit?
Author: dharris

Coming north out of Philly this morning on the NEC and saw what looked like some old passenger cars, a caboose, and an E or F unit (possibly an FL9?) a few miles north of the 30th Street Station, on the east side of the tracks. Anybody know what I was looking at? Unit was pretty rusty but looked like an Amtrak paint job.

Possibly you were looking at Juniata Terminal. However, their E's are not rusty, rather they are PRR tuscan red.

Has Juniata Terminal acquired any new power?

The FL9 units stored on the Morristown & Erie were said to be for sale.

Juniata Terminal.  They have an E unit hulk in Amtrak paint.

Thanks-  this was definitely in the "hulk rust" color scheme. Caught it on the way home today. Not easy with a point and shoot and doing 65 mph or so.

Is it there for spare parts?  Or for eventual restoration?
