Eastern Railroad Discussion > Pan AM / MBTA miscellaneousDate: 01/16/17 04:27 Pan AM / MBTA miscellaneous Author: JPB Photo 1: wb 23K after departing its Ayer, MA origin only moments ago, paused just east of Shirley station to permit eb MBTA train 420 to make its stop. 420 passes 23K as both trains depart.
Photo 2: a local switcher AY-something is parked on main one on the bridge over the Nashua River at the west end of the new CPF-Camp interlocking, looking to head east once T traffic clears around the Ayer station. Photo 3: POED, a noted slug of a train that can ages to get through the commuter territory on its travels from Portland, ME to E Deerfield, sits at a stop signal CPF-346 on the west side of Gardner after informing dispatcher that crew has an hour left to live. Dispatcher says taxi is on the way! Hopefully some day soon the newly installed signals (apparently paid for by the MBTA even though their trains terminate 11 miles east of here) at this interlocking (aka "Parkers") will be placed in use.
