Eastern Railroad Discussion > Hunter is comingDate: 01/18/17 15:39 Hunter is coming Author: Finderskeepers Hunter Harrison put in his resignation on the table to end his tenure at CP 6 months early. He apparently left 118 million dollars on the table for them to waive his non-competition clause in his contract. He is coming to another railroad, likely either NS or CSX. That is a huge sum of money to leave on the table, he is after something bigger....I fear for the next victims.

WE are all screwed!

And a railroad small enough to go around Hunter's Christmas tree......The FEC...headquarter in the area. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/18/17 17:03 by RRNUT. Date: 01/18/17 17:01 Re: Hunter is coming Author: JR24 farmer Wrote:

Seems to me that he cost both of those entities a lot of money, NS especially, keeping him & CP at bay for a while. If I were on either board, I wouldn't hire him to sweep the floors. But hey, just another $.02 from somebody in the peanut gallery who's never worked in the industry.

If you buy enough shares, you can install a board of your choosing. It's a lot simpler than people think if your pockets are deep enough. Date: 01/18/17 17:38 Re: Hunter is coming Author: shooting4fun http://trn.trains.com/news/news-wire/2017/01/18-hunter-retires-edit well it is CSX And I hate to say When Ward leaves in 2018 Sanburn Would have became CEO any ways but now she has some one to buddy up with.
Date: 01/18/17 18:08 Re: Hunter is coming Author: Lackawanna484 It will be interesting, that's for sure.
I suspect Pershing Square will probably use tactics similar to those they used at CP. If this becomes a proxy battle you have to convince share holders you can do better than the current highly regarded management / bunch of clowns --Management is fat and comfortable --The board is a bunch of cronies, unwilling to force the company to make serious changes --The company wastes an enormous amount of money --The company has way too much track for the amount of business they have Ironically, NS had its "come to Jesus moment" and moved toward spinning off branches, tightening up pricing, hiring more sales people etc Date: 01/18/17 18:26 Re: Hunter is coming Author: reel_smooth shooting4fun Wrote:

The comments at the bottom of that article were rather interesting, to say the least. A few members of the EHH fan club but a whole lot more that had absolutely nothing positive to say about him. But at the same time this may be Hunter's way of tring to get CSX to take over CP, I know many have said the STB wont let it happen but look at what happen on election day and before election day the goverment is unpreditcable. Yea Sanburn is just as bad as hunter from every CSX worker I know down here in Bama she is still cutting. Date: 01/18/17 18:47 Re: Hunter is coming Author: Seventyfive Does anyone know if the NS and CSX have mandatory retirement ages? The WSJ Market Watch says it will be CSX.
I thought Misters Ward and Gooden would be there forever. Date: 01/18/17 23:56 Re: Hunter is coming Author: SP4360 If he does end up at CSX, it truly will be Chicken S#%t Express.

Ben Date: 01/19/17 20:21 Re: Hunter is coming Author: spwolfmtn Sounds like great news for NS. Hunter will drive customers away with his massive cost cutting and degradation of service (sounds like CSX is doing a pretty good job at this now any ways) so many new business opportunities for NS.
