Lancaster Oxford & Southern No. 10
Author: PennRailVideos

Yesterday, my friends and I braved the cold windy day and ventured out to Strasburg to take a ride on a unique piece of equipment.

LO&S #10 was built in 1915 and is the only remaining peice of rolling stock from that very small railroad. It was originally narrow gauge, the car was converted to standard gauge by the SRC. You can find more info on LO&S #10 and the Lancaster Oxford & Southern Railway by doing a simple Google search on the railroad.

1 & 2. Eastbound at Carpenters.
3. Westbound at Cherry Hill.

4. Eastbound leaving Strasburg station past the Russell Snow Plow. Hopefully the plow is finished for the season!
5. Eastbound at Esbenshade. It's amazing that one of the regular trains would take up a lot of room in one of these open-field shots, whereas the little motorcar is almost unnoticed.
6. Finally, Paradise.

I highly recommend taking a ride on the Motorcar if you've never done so, very neat. I would recommend one do it in late spring, when they operate it as the last trip of the day after the steam train. The car is quite drafty in the cold weather!

Looking at old topo maps at Historic Aerials.
It appears that Oxford was as far South that it got.
