Last of the NYC searchlights in NYState to come down

Read online recently that CSX has another signal suspension planned this Sunday for the signals in the Buffalo area... These should be among the last NYC "Lines East" searchlight signals still standing, and are the last active NYC signal bridges on the Albany-Buffalo route... Also have heard a rumor that the CP-434 WAS (the big cantilever standing along Broadway) may possibly be preserved in some way... Anyone have any more details about that?

This weekend is indeed the cutover, after which the old bridges will be cut off their foundations and scrapped.  A sad day for enthusiasts of the old guard!

I have read online that a chapter of the NRHS is working to save the cantilever at CP434.
