Q401 derailed yesterday morning making its setoff at Acca.  4 or 5 trash cars on the ground in the wye just north of West AY.

As of dawn Saturday, the "Passenger Main" through Acca Yard was finally re-opened, and priority trains (Amtrak, double stacks, intermodals -- and a few time-freights) were beginning to get through (being FLEETED) using that track, and THAT TRACK ONLY.  Reason:  the derailment took out at least two switches/crossovers at West Acca Wye completely.  At dawn Sat., also, while the trains began getting through north and south, there were TWO HOLES IN THE GROUND where those 2 switches "used to be."  CSX and Cranemasters officials were busy rebuilding the RR so perhaps by Sat. night, or maybe as late as "some time" Sunday, the line will be reopened.

As to why there were trash cars on the 401 to derail in the first place, I was told by a RF&P guy that the 409 had "accidentally" set them off in Baltimore and so the 401 picked them up to head south since the 401 works Collier (where the 409 usually sets the trash out) anyways.  The ironic thing too is that they'll be rebuilding WAY just to rip it out again soon in the course of the current Acca Yard bypass project.

Q401 originates in Cumberland and don't go to Baltimore. Who picked up the trash in Baltimore? The only other train that could have picked it up is Q301. Earl...

Don't know what to tell you, that's just what a couple of RF&P guys that were there at the time were saying.
