1) - CSX Empty Hopper train E738-20 (#774) westbound on track #1 meets loaded Coal Drag N782-20 (#3063) eastbound on 17-Mile Grade at Bloomington, MD

2) - Quickly leaving Bloomington after the 1st. photo, we drove over to Beryl, WV to get the shot of the leader of N782 passing the rear of the E738 at the Potomac River crossing.

That curved meet on the first is really nice.

Thank You! I had just picked my son up and we were heading for lunch when the westbound called the signal at West Keyser. We figured we would catch him at Piedmont then go to lunch after that.... but while sitting at Piedmont, the Coal Drag called the signal at Warnick's Curve. I knew they would meet somewhere around the Potomac River Crossing. Once we heard the DD give the drag's axle count I figured the meet would happen right at Bloomington. I was hoping the drag would be a little further down the mountain when they met but it worked all the same.

Not easy to get a meet on that line. Nicely done!

I'd like an opinion. With carload traffic re-routed via Pittsburgh and Grafton, 165 miles longer, and who knows how many days longer to the east coast, does seventeen mile grade still warrant double track with the remaining traffic/
