Power magazine article on Coal vs Natural Gas
Author: SandPatch1

I you can get access to Power magazine,, a trade pub for the utility industry. A excellent article on what the future is for coal.. it has 3 choices.. NG at $2.50,, coal stays down, NG at $3 Coal is down a little, NG at $4,, coal increase's but mostly PRB.. very good read.. As for the railroad. they did NOT cut rates to help compete with NG as they feel that if they lower rates would be hard to raise. If coal comes back the rates will help them recover some of the loss's over the last years.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission got two R members today, which now lets them make rules, approve new interstate pipelines, etc. That's been a problem for almost two years. Two D members will be seated in September.

Several gas, oil, and two propane pipes are already in the queue for review. Not good for rails or barges.
