What would the proposed evaluation have consisted of?  Do they just calculate a body mass index and say that obese people are automatically enrolled in a program?

I'm thinking that some people might be reluctant to candidly answer questions about snoring, for example, if they know that they will be required to enter a program they don't want to go into.

It goes by weight, body mass, neck size and family medical history. If they fall within the parameters, you get sent for a
sleep test.

Had to renew my cdl medical card in July. Already have been diagnosed with sleep apnea several years a go. So I have the sleep machine. Dr. informed me next thing on the governments list is to reduce weight of cdl license holders. With the target goal of making everyone the weight of there late teen years.

So, I'll have to grow my hair in a Beatles cut, dance the peppermint twist three times a week, and train for track team five days a week.

I'd be dead in a few days...

The definitive test for sleep apnea is an overnight medically-supervised sleep study. The most common treatment is the use of a CPAP Machine (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure).

The real problem is that rails and truckers have no reliable schedule. No set sleeping time. A total screwed up schedule. We are told by people who get to sleep at night what is wrong with us.

Amen. Dan

A drivers normal 10-12 hour shift is spent sitting. When they stop driving they are stuck in a truck stop or a factory parking lot in a questionable part of town or rest area with no where to go or any reliable way to get exercise at often random hours of the day or night. A driver has to really want to stay in shape. Not to mention the lack of health food that is typically available at the average truck stop.

All this really leads to is that humans can no longer be trusted to safely drive or do anything.
