Still trying to finish my photos from a trip to Altoona, PA over Memorial Day weekend.  Just about got them done,  These are from Monday, May 28th, our last day there.  Onto the photos.

1.  NS 12G with a Tier 4 engine leading
2.  In this 12G consist was this former Penn Central hopper
3.  Eastbound 61N (empty gons for steel slabs) with a DC to AC rebuild leading

Continuing the photos..

4.  NS 25T with a former CSX engine, now a lease engine, second
5.  Something I only saw this time was a four pack of helpers.  This group is heading west.  I loved seeing and hearing the SD40-2 4-packs...
5.  NS 48T (grain) with three BNSF engines

Continuing the photos

7.  Altoona Yard local CB10 coming off the Cove Secondary with what we were told was a stored tanker train.  A pair of SD40Es and a GP38-2 power the train.
8.  Going away photo of the engines
9.  John Deere equipment on NS 36A

10.  NS 10N slowing for a recrew in Altoona Yard
11.  Reading & Northern coal cars on the 10N
12.  NS 35A with head end hekpers due to hazardous cars on the rear

And a photo of the eastbound Pennsylvanian, Amtrak train 42, NS 04T, arriving in Altoona.

Including the helper moves, I saw 22 train movements on that day, from about 7:30 am to 2:20 pm.  Hope you enjoy the photos and videos!

Good job recording Altoona action. Small nit pick; helper engines are SD40E not SD40-2. Actually upgraded (downgraded?) SD50's.

Thank you for the compliment and you are correct on the SD40E.  My sentance regarding the SD40-2s was in past tense.  During my last two visits to Altoona, seeing a four pack of helpers was more common with the SD40-2s as opposed to the SD40Es.

Speaking of past tense,I remember SD45-2's, 3 engine sets of Alco 1800 hp roadswitchers and Baldwin centipedes as pushers!

I have seen pictures of the SD45s and the centipedes in helper service.  Would've been cool to see/hear the SD45s in person.
