Q316-06 with a different shade of blue.... 12/08/2018
Author: DTWilson

Once again our friends to the west informed us of a switcher coming east that was billed for the Mt. Storm Power Station... off we go to catch the unit coming east.

1) We stop at Mountain Lake Park. The boy's mother takes in the Thrift Store beside tracks while the boy and I catch Q316-06 eastbound passing the former B&O station in town.

2) Chasing east.... near the Swanton Road Crossing.

3) Descending 17-Mile grade at Bloomington, MD

1) Q316-06 eastbound at Keymont, WV. Once they arrive at Keyser, WV. They will spot the switcher in the west yard and pickup the outbound freight off the Freight Track before continuing east to Cumberland, MD.

2) Later that afternoon, Q316-06 eastbound at Bowling Green, MD.

Interesting. Is that switcher a first for Mt. Storm?

No, they have a sister unit to the #1101 up there now and a smaller Center Cab. I haven't seen the Center Cab in a few years but someone posted a recent photo of it over on FB.
