WSOR 103 heading somewhere?
Author: MJV1988

I noticed for the past few weeks former E-unit WSOR 103 has been sitting parked over by the Spaulding rd. yard in Bartlett, IL. Yesterday someone posted on FB it was heading southbound in Tuscola, IL. Anyone know where it's heading?

The former WSOR 103 was sold by Watco to Ed Ellis' Iowa Pacific Holdings. I believe it was assigned SLRG (San Luis & Rio Grande) reporting marks while in service for IPH, so if anyone can perform an equipment trace try SLRG 103.

i have heard rumors it was headed south to IPH's former Grenada Railroad operation in Mississippi, where IPH other active E units (IC-painted 515 and 518) currently reside.

Corrections/updates appreciated.

Isn't IPH out of the Grenada property?

Correct, International Rail Partners (latest iteration of RailAmerica) is now operating the Grenada Railway.  There was a Christmas train using Iowa Pacific's equipment, though.  I'm not sure what the arrangement was for that.  I can only imagine someone, whether a local entity or the new operator, had some sort of a rental agreement for the equipment.

I don't know how to make the link, but you can look at my message of 12-14-18 on the Passenger Board titled Batesville Christmas Train for details on the equipment that was there.
