Southern Vacation Day 5: Carolina Coastal Railway
Author: Ohiorailfan

On my last day of my trip I spent the better part of the day with Carolina Coastal's Train 120. This train runs daily from Wilson to Chocowinity, NC. The train is typically in around 10am. I set up at Waltonsburg first thing in the morning and waited for its arrival before following it east. The train left Wilson with 3 CLNA painted GP9R's. They ended up dropping one unit off in Greenville while working. Typically the 120 meets the 119 at Choco, on this day the 120 was late so the 119 was already gone. Word to the wise when chasing, avoid Greenville because the traffic and lights suck. Enjoy!

I have enjoyed your reporting on your Southern Vacation. You seem to have a lot of info as to operation days and locations worked in your reports. Did you contact the railroads before hand or picked this info up elsewhere?

Your days outings seemed well organized, photo locations, times, etc.  Glad it worked out for you.
