Question about former SD70M-2 lease units Norfolk Southern
Author: bnsf6606

Does anyone have an update on the status of the short-term lease units from Florida East Coast?  They were leased to the NS but the lease expired in November.  Are they stored somewhere and who owns them?  (former FEC 105-106-107.  Thanks.

Not true...these units have been sitting in Decatur, IL for months. Just saw them a couple days ago. I've heard a couple conflicting stories about why they are still here.

Wells Fargo owns them now. All 4 engines have some kind of mechanical issue and there has been a contract dispute between NS and Wells Fargo for a while and I heard it was not resolved so they will probably sit here in Decatur, IL for a while still. They will either go back to Florida or go to Saint Louis I heard.

Let's hope they don't go to St. Louis Auto Shredding.
