Eastern Railroad Discussion > Question About Diamonds On NS Detroit to Kansas City and St LouisDate: 04/11/19 18:37 Question About Diamonds On NS Detroit to Kansas City and St Louis Author: PRR_4859 Good Evening:
On the NS (former Wabash) between Detroit and Kansas City, where are diamonds located with other railroads and which road has control? How about between Decatur, IL and St Louis and St Louis to Moberly, MO? Thank you in advance. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 04/11/19 18:41 by PRR_4859. Date: 04/11/19 19:06 Re: Question About Diamonds On NS Detroit to Kansas City and St L Author: toledopatch I'm going to follow the Wabash main from the Boat Yard, so we'll start with the diamonds at Delray, which CSX controls; the NS ex-WAB actually runs on CSX track through the plant.
Ecorse Jct. (crossing ex-NYC Junction Yard Runner), controlled by NS. Oakwood Jct (CN/GTW/DT&I) controlled by NS. Romulus, and based on who usually gets priority there, controlled by CSX, although it might be first-come-first-served with CSX's dispatchers being more aggressive. Milan, Mich., with the Ann Arbor, controlled by NS. Adrian, Mich., with the Adrian & Blissfield, controlled by NS. Butler, Ind., NS-Wabash vs NS-Conrail/NYC, controlled by NS-Conrail/NYC. St. Joe, Ind., controlled by CSX (ex-B&O). East Wayne, Ind., NS-Wabash vs NS-NKP, both part of Lake Division. Fort Wayne/MIKE, Ind., (ex-WAB vs CF&E), probably controlled by Lake Division. Clymers, Ind., (Winamac Southern?) controlled by NS. Danville, IL (ex-WAB vs CSX ex-C&EI), unsure who controls. I might have missed one, and I'll leave farther west to others, but I know there's also a diamond at Hannibal, MO where the ex-WAB crosses the BNSF ex-CB&Q along the MIssissippi (I have no idea what there is in Decatur or Springfield). No diamonds anymore, just crossovers. NS controls Lafayette Jct.
(Crosses over CSX ex-Monon further south.) Date: 04/11/19 19:47 Re: Question About Diamonds On NS Detroit to Kansas City and St L Author: Spoony81 Decatur -Moberly

Three NS trains came through before the northbound left. Just made me think that NS has control of that junction.
