Night Action from Chesterton
Author: trainmandan

Hi all!

It's been awhile since I've posted on this forum. Wanted to share a couple of night images I took last week in Chesterton, IN.

1) A Santa Fe Warbonnet leads empty oil train 67R past the old NYC depot, headed for CN.

2) The Conrail/Reading duo that created some buzz heads past leading train 25V.

Thanks for looking, comments and tips appreciated!

Great pictures! Thank you for sharing. I really enjoy night shots. Around what time were these taken?

I watch the Chesterton Rail cam a fair amount - it's good to see what the depot actually looks like! BTW what are the passenger cars that are across the tracks from Riley's Railhouse at Chesterton? Thanks.

They're former South Shore coaches without pantagraphs, but repainted and currently for rent.  They once housed a restaurant and then a small business company (don't recall what exactly).

My apologies for the late response! The Warbonnet was at 2:15 am, the heritage duo around 5:15 am.

No problem! Again, great night shots.
