PRR heritage unit leading 22V was worth the wait!
Author: Pattenburg

Saturday's wait of four hours was worth it for me in taking this photo for me. Many a time I have hoped that I can get a photo of the 22V with all of those colorful COFCs taking MAIN 1, the former Royce Running Track, in Hillsborough (NJ). Today my pre-visualization of this scene came to be reality. Getting a text  around 8:15AM saying that the PRR heritage unit was leading 22V I could only hope that scenario would materialize today. With the signal at CP SULLY indicating 22V would take the siding I headed down to the Roycefield Road grade crossing and waited. Around 12:20 a headlight appeared in the distance signaling its approach. Being an overcast day that even contributed to this scene. If the sun was out that would have meant I would be shooting into the sun. All in all despite being an overcast day I think this turned out to be alright. Patience is definitely something that is developed with doing trackside photography.
