With the collision near Cincinnati the other day; this makes three sizable accidents on NS in less than a week. Posted from iPhone Date: 10/09/19 18:43 Re: NS Derailment in Georgia Author: MdRailfan If I recall correctly CSX had multiple derailments shortly after PSR was implemented. I hope NS didn't get rid of their track maintenance people like CSX did.

John Date: 10/10/19 09:21 Re: NS Derailment in Georgia Author: Dewman45 You will see NS detours through Folkston, Ga.
Date: 10/10/19 09:50 Re: NS Derailment in Georgia Author: DocJohn What routing? Via the connection at Jessup?
John Date: 10/10/19 14:00 Re: NS Derailment in Georgia Author: ctillnc I suppose they could do it at Jesup, although the connecting track there probably isn't in the best of condition. The alternative is via Savannah at Central Jct.

Date: 10/10/19 16:12 Re: NS Derailment in Georgia Author: Dewman45 One other option is get on the Heart of Georgia (HOG) in Cordele then get back on the NS in McRe then head for Macon they would not have to run around there train in Cordele. Plus the connecting track in Jessup has been paved over at the Amtrak Station

Yesterday 209 and 229 were combined. Posted from iPhone Date: 10/11/19 10:37 Re: NS Derailment in Georgia Author: NSDTK No connection there, HOG cordele cars are interchanged in Americus

Just drove by Racepond in between Waycross and folkston and there was a NS intermodal train waiting with mostly EMP containers. Didn't get the number though. It was pretty weird seeing it on CSX tracks
